About Trellis Magazine
Trellis Magazine was a publication of the Trellis Literary Corporation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, which dissolved December 2011. Trellis Magazine focused on poetic form and aimed to educate readers and writers of all ages.
Mission of Trellis Literary Corporation
The purpose of the Trellis Literary Corporation was to be a nonprofit private foundation which published, printed, and distributed materials that fostered the appreciation of the fundamentals and craft of writing in the English language; provided a forum for learning, research, and sharing of literature; and helped writers of all ages find a voice for original, creative expression.
Immanuel Kant wrote: “In all beautiful art the essential thing is form.” Just as a trellis provides support and form for the growth of a plant to become stronger and more beautiful, so the Trellis Literary Corporation provided support and form for the growth of writers’ language skills so that their writing would become stronger and more beautiful. This corporation offered writers the opportunity to develop a solid knowledge of the English language through education and practice in the conventions of poetry.
